An exciting opportunity to take part in a unique initiative which will bring financial and other resources directly to Black and racially minoritised voluntary and community organisations (BRMVCOs)
The Phoenix Way (TPW)
TPW is an inspirational, national racial and social justice movement that was founded in May 2021 to respond to the structural inequalities faced by BRMVCOs and communities when accessing funding and other support. TPW aims to address the structural barriers and inequalities communities of colour face and to help to develop a pioneering model that can be replicated to ensure that communities facing poverty, exclusion and discrimination have a say in decisions that impact their lives; put communities in the lead to ensure no community is left behind.
The Phoenix Way Midlands (TPWM)
TPW operates through six regional partnerships with TPWM as its Midlands regional partner. TPWM is coordinated and managed by South Asian Health Action UK (SAHAUK), a patient, carer and community charity based in Leicester with reach in Leeds and London and supported by brap, a Birmingham based race equality organisation.
Organisational Needs Analysis (ONA)
To help TPWM ensure that funding and infrastructure support reaches as wide a range of BRMVCOs as possible, TPWM wants to spend some time getting to know, understand and build relationships with BRMVCOs in the Midlands. To help do this, TPWM is working with a number of established organisations in the Midlands to carry out ONAs with BRMVCOs.
What next?
If your organisation is based in Birmingham, you will be contacted by the BRAP to take part in completing the ONAs. Please note that all information and data given to BRAP will be subject to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and will be deleted by TIA once it has been passed onto SAHA UK and TPWM.
What is in it for you?
By taking part, your organisation will become part of the national TPW movement which is on the verge of securing substantial funds from The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF) to invest directly into BRMVCOs in the Midlands and other regions. Apart from direct funding for BRMVCOs, the investment from TNLCF and other sources will pay for infrastructure support to create more sustainable BRMVCOs.
